Where Does the Money Go?
Since its inception, LexArts has raised millions of dollars in support of the local arts through its annual Campaign for the Arts.
In turn, LexArts underwrites the operating expenses for its beneficiary groups through annual allocations, and offers competitive grants for community arts projects.
Our annual allocations are awarded to Lexington’s largest and most established arts organizations which provide quality arts programming year round.
Community Arts Grants are made on a competitive basis and have been awarded to a wide variety of nonprofit arts and cultural organizations.
The generosity of Lexington's corporations, businesses, foundations and individuals to the Campaign for the Arts is the key to LexArts' ability to sustain and increase its giving to arts organizations and individual artists.
