2010 Fund for the Arts

There are new and exciting opportunities for the arts community in Lexington and central Kentucky. In response to the change in the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government and the 2010 World Equestrian Games, LexArts developed the Cultural Blueprint for the Bluegrass creating a comprehensive plan for the arts of central Kentucky - making real our Campaign tag line, "Cultivate Creativity."
Why Give?
- Communities that invest in the arts reap the benefits of jobs, economic growth and a quality of life that positions communities to compete in our 21st Century creative economy.
- LexArts' Fund for the Arts has a significant impact on the local economy - generating more than $9.5 million in household income, leveraging state and local government funds and creating nearly 500 full-time jobs.
- National research shows that arts and culture organizations are strongly rooted in their communities, thus the jobs created remain local and cannot be shipped overseas.
- The ripple effect of the arts sector is another important reason to support the arts - arts and culture organizations leverage additional event-related spending at restaurants, hotels, retail stores and other local businesses.
