YOUR GIFT WORKS FOR THE ARTS
A community that invests in the arts invests in itself. By giving to the 2010 Fund for the Arts, your one gift has many benefits. This year's campaign will raise $1 million -- the majority do be distributed to arts organizations through a review process. LexArts' Allocations Committee examines artistic plans, financial records and organizational leadership ensuring these groups are held to high standards of management and community service.
For more information on how to contribute to the 2010 Fund for the Arts, contact Nick Covault at 859.255.2951 or ncovault@lexarts.org. To make your contribution online, please click on the Donate Now button below.
ART WORKS FOR YOU
ARTS INSPIRE:
Creativity

Fluency of thought
The arts invigorate our community, inspire our children and create a sense of discovery. Lexington's arts organizations offer diverse programs, performances and exhibitions designed to educate, entertain and engage all persons within central Kentucky.
The arts transcend what is routine and ordinary revealing the beauty, innovation and colorful possibilities in everyday life. Creative expression says what words can not, enabling us to better understand ourselves and providing common ground on which we can better comprehend the world around us.
We invite you to participate in sharing our vsion of creating a progressive and innovative community inspired by the arts.

ART WORKS FOR OUR COMMUNITY
Lexington's arts organizations offer imaginative experiences that sculpt the cultural landscape of central Kentucky.
"The arts reflect the diversity or our experiences as individuals and our communities as a whole. They remind us of our past and help us imagine the future." -- The U.S. Conference of Mayors
Initiatives such as LexArts' Lexington Mural Project have impacted how we use public space to reflect cultural heritage. Swingin' to the Music, a mural created by artist Michael Burrell on North Limestone, not only beautified the neighborhood and celebrated its vivid musical history, but inspired the construction of a stage in nearby Duncan Park for public performances. This summer the park became home to a live jazz series providing a free and accessible artistic outlet.
ART WORKS FOR OUR LOCAL ECONOMY
The arts are a vital part of our local economy with 1,116 arts-related businesses in central Kentucky employing nearly 5,700 people. In Fayette County, more than 500 jobs generate $9.5 million dollars in household income. The arts share consumers with restaurants, retailers and hotels, support tourism and create a ripple effect that benefits us all.
ART WORKS FOR YOUR BUSINESS
By investing in the arts, your business participates in the community's cultural well-being -- winning customer respect and attracting today's most imaginative employees: 87% of employees feel more devoted to employers who are philanthropic and 76% of customers are more loyal to businesses associated with a good cause.
